eFTI 2027 and eCMR

A claim under the CMR Convention must be made in writing. If you send it only by email with a scanned signature, the other party can challenge it as legally insufficient in the event of a dispute.

TIMELINE
The eFTI Regulation (EU 2020/1056) became applicable, with a phased rollout.
21 August 2024
IN EFFECT
Implementing regulations are being issued (e.g. 2024/1942, 2025/2243), setting out the precise technical and certification requirements for eFTI platforms.
2025 – 2026
From this date, authorities in EU member states must accept electronic transport data submitted through certified eFTI platforms.
